In June we asked for community feedback on options to increase parking on Donaldson Street in Corryong.
The key messages we received as part of this feedback was a preference for centre parking bays with parallel parking on both sides of Donaldson Street. The option to expand the centre bay parking above the roundabout was suggested and concerns about the width of the traffic lanes was raised. We also heard the need to prioritise shade trees as part of the design.
Based on this feedback the next stage of consultation we will be marking up a section of Donaldson Street with the revised design so that community members have a chance to visualise the trade-off between the width of the traffic lanes and the depth / width of the centre bay parking bays. This step will inform the final plans for construction.
The proposed markings will be in place during mid-late September and October.
During this time there will be an opportunity to provide feedback on the functionality of the design to the Project Manager.
Following this, the design will be finalised, and we anticipate construction to commence in January.
