Cr Andrew Whitehead - Mayor

Cr Andrew Whitehead is currently serving his fourth year as Mayor of Towong Shire. He was first elected to Council in October 2016, was re-elected to Council in November 2024 and is now serving his third term.

Cr Whitehead grew up in the Corryong area having completed school at Corryong College, he was a Mechanic for 30 years locally before focusing on his roles as a Councillor and farmer.

He lives and works full-time on the family beef and sheep farm at Towong Upper. Cr Whitehead has been an active volunteer in our Shire for over 30 years.
