Recycling - get it right on bin night

Towong Shire residents are good at recycling, but you'd be surprised at how many recyclables get thrown in the rubbish bin and end up in landfill.

For example, if you put recyclables in plastic bags, they'll end up in landfill. Put them loose in your recycle bin if you want them to end up in the right place.

Most people think of the kitchen when recycling, but you can recycle from every room in the house – from your bathroom and laundry to your lounge and study.

Halve Waste

Halve Waste is an initiative of Albury City Council, City of Wodonga, Federation Council and the Shires of Towong, Greater Hume, Indigo and Alpine. The goal of Halve Waste is to reduce the amount of waste going to landfill by 50%.
