2023/24 Pool Season Begins

MAKING A SPLASH – POOLS OPENING

Towong Shire Council is thrilled to announce the opening of Corryong and Tallangatta Swimming Pools this Saturday, 18 November, marking the beginning of an exciting pool season for the community.

Both locations will be operational on weekdays from 3:30 pm to 7:00 pm and on weekends from 2:00 pm to 7:00 pm. During the school holiday period, hours will extend from 2:00 pm to 7:00 pm on both weekdays and weekends.

Council will be trialling new hours for the peak Christmas - New Year period to ensure everyone can enjoy a refreshing dip before it gets too warm. From 20 December to 7 January, pools will be open for the morning from 9:00 am – 12:00 pm and in the afternoon from 2:00 pm – 7:00 pm

Mayor Andrew Whitehead expressed his enthusiasm for the upcoming pool season.

"We're delighted to invite the community to dive into the summer fun at Corryong and Tallangatta Swimming Pools. The extended hours during peak times reflect our commitment to providing a fantastic experience for all."

In a strategic move to enhance the pool experience, Council has partnered with Belgravia Leisure for the next three seasons to manage and operate the pools. As part of this agreement, lifeguards will be employed by Belgravia but under the local government rates.

"We are excited about our collaboration with Belgravia Leisure. This partnership ensures a high-quality pool experience with professional lifeguards and staff," Mayor Whitehead said.

Arrangements for user groups outside operating hours remain unchanged. Groups will not incur charges unless Belgravia Lifeguards are required.

A shared website is in development to streamline bookings, enhancing the overall user experience.
