Join us for the Australia Day Community Breakfast Award Ceremonies
Towong Shire Council, in partnership with local community groups, invites you to the 2021 Australia Day Community Breakfast Award Ceremonies.
Join us for breakfast at 8am on 26 January 2021 to celebrate Australia Day and this year's winners.
- Bellbridge: Community Centre, Craig Drive
- Corryong: Youth Club Hall, Donaldson Street
- Mitta Mitta: Mitta Mitta Swimming Pool Reserve
- Tallangatta: The Triangles, Towong Street
- Walwa: Memorial Hall, Main Street
Awards will be given in the following categories:
- Citizen of the Year
- Young Citizen of the Year
- Local Champions
A new ‘Local Champions’ award has been introduced in 2021, recognising the contributions of businesses, community groups, or individuals who have provided exceptional service and support during a crisis.
Mayor Wortmann encouraged community members to come together and celebrate after a challenging 2020.
“After such a difficult year with the bushfires and COVID-19, it’s important to take this opportunity to come together and celebrate as a community and congratulate this year’s Australia Day Community Award winners” he said.
