Help shape our future in Agriculture

Council, together with agriculture industry representatives and community members, are developing a Strategic Plan for Strategic Plan for Agriculture in the Shire to build a stronger, more profitable and more resilient agriculture industry for generations to come.

Mayor Wortmann is encouraging community members to contribute to the plan.

“If you would like to help shape the future direction and growth of our agricultural industry, we would love to work with you.”

“Agriculture is our largest industry, accounting for over 30% of employment and contributing almost 40% of Towong Shire’s economic output each year. The importance of this sector to our economic future is paramount” he said.

“The good news is we already have a huge amount of knowledge of the industry on our doorstep and it is this local knowledge which can make all the difference in building a prosperous industry for generations to come” Mayor Wortmann said.
