Riverine Plains has shared the following opportunities for farmers and community members across Towong Shire.
Riverine Plain is a charitable organisation established in 1999 as a farming systems group to meet the growing needs of farmers in north east Victoria and southern New South Wales.

Wodonga AVD Summer Lunch Meeting & Farmer workshop to input into Dairy Australia's Priorities for Strategic Planning | Dairy Australia
AVD welcomes local dairy farmers to come along to quarterly meetings to hear from guest speakers and share insights to shape the region’s dairy industry advancement.
This first meeting of the year will also include a workshop where farmers can share their priorities to feed into Dairy Australia’s Strategic Plan.
Sykesy’s Buraja Meeting
Wednesday 5th February 8:30 am – 12:00 pm at Buruja Recreational Hall

Understanding and calculating on-farm emissions workshops with Cam Nicholson
Workshop 1: Understanding carbon emissions and opportunities in agriculture
Monday 17th February 9:30 am – 3:20 pm at the Upper Murray Events Centre, Strzelecki Way, Corryong
Understanding Carbon and Emissions Opportunities in Agriculture. Day 1 of the two day workshop will provide an overview of where carbon requirements are heading, the evolution of possible emission reduction technologies, and explore options farmers have to maintain business flexibility while starting to participate in the carbon space.
Workshop 2: Understanding what my number for on-farm emissions using carbon calcultors
Tuesday 18th February 9:30 am – 3:20 pm at the Upper Murray Events Centre, Strzelecki Way, Corryong
Understanding what my number is for on-farm emissions using carbon calculators Day 2 will explore the use of carbon calculators available to use on your farm. Ideally, bring your own laptop with your energy/diesel use figures, livestock numbers, key dates for sales and kg sold, to input into the calculators.
