Corryong CBD Streetscape Upgrade

Council is delighted to announce the start of the Corryong CBD Streetscape upgrade, which is scheduled to commence in the coming weeks.

This transformative project aims to revitalise our town centre and create an even more vibrant and welcoming environment for residents and visitors alike.

To ensure a seamless transition and minimise disruptions, the project will be executed in staged sections, with the Donaldson Street Roundabout being the first area of focus. This phased approach will allow us to efficiently manage resources and work towards completing each section with minimal impact to residents and businesses.

Mayor Andrew Whitehead expressed his enthusiasm for works commencing and emphasised Council’s commitment to minimising potential impacts on residents and businesses.

"We are thrilled to see the Corryong CBD Streetscape upgrade finally underway. This project has been a long time in the making, and it will bring significant improvements to our town centre,” he said.

“The revitalised streetscape will enhance the aesthetic appeal and functionality of the CBD, ultimately contributing to a more enjoyable experience for everyone.”

Stage 1 will focus on the following works at the Donaldson Street intersection:

• Demolition work
• Kerb replacement
• Road crossing replacement
• Tree and shrub removal
• Watermain replacement

Donaldson Street will be closed between Harris Street and Hanson Street and a speed reduction to 40km will be in place. We expect this section to take about a month to complete.

Please note that site setup will be occurring over the next few weeks before works officially commence.
