Corryong Skatepark
Calling all Skaters and Community Members: Have Your Say in the Pre-Design Phase of Corryong's New Skate Park!
The Corryong community is buzzing with excitement as plans for a brand-new skatepark about to take shape.
Following the identification of the old Primary School site as the preferred location during community consultation in March 2023 we’re excited to move to the design phase. Towong Shire Council, in collaboration with globally renowned skate park designers Convic invite you to have your say at a pre-design workshop hosted by Convic in Corryong on Thursday, 29 June 2023.
Towong Shire Council Mayor, Andrew Whitehead, said these workshops will provide an invaluable opportunity for locals to collaborate with the experts, sharing their ideas and shaping the vision of the skatepark.
“We recognise the importance of involving the community in the development process, ensuring that the park reflects the needs and desires of the community and those who will enjoy it most,” Mayor Whitehead said.
“Whether you're a seasoned skater, an aspiring enthusiast, or simply a passionate community member, your voice matters.”
“This is your chance to make a lasting impact on the development of Corryong's new skatepark and contribute to a vibrant and inclusive space for all.”
The workshops will be held on Thursday 29 June at:
- Old Corryong primary School site, on the corner of Anzac Parade and Towong Road from 3.30pm-5.00pm
- Upper Murray Community Recovery Hub from 6.30pm-8.00pm
A survey will be available from Friday 30 June for those who can’t make the workshop in person.
The ideas from the workshops will be considered in the draft plan for the new skate park which will be available to community members for feedback in the coming months.
This project is being delivered with the support of the National Recovery and Resilience Agency's Black Summer Bushfire Recovery Grants Program and Council.
