Farm Shed Exemption Policy extended for 12 months

At the December 2021 Council meeting, Towong Shire Council approved a 12-month extension of the Farm Shed Exemption Policy until 1 January 2023.

The extension recognises the impact of COVID-19 on the availability of building supplies and builders to complete rebuilds and enables access to permit exemptions and fee waivers for selected farm sheds damaged by the 201/20 bushfires.

Towong Shire Council Mayor Andrew Whitehead said people can still get in touch with the Rebuild Support Service.

“Anyone who lost property in the bushfire, including sheds and other buildings is eligible for support through Council’s Rebuild Support Service.”

“All fees relating to permits for rebuilds associated with bushfire, including sheds, continues to be waived. We hope the recent extension to the Farm Shed Exemption Policy takes the pressure off those attempting to rebuild,” he said.
