Streetscape Revitalisation beginning - Towong Street East, Tallangatta
Over the coming months Towong Shire Council will be undertaking road, kerb, footpath and drainage upgrades along Towong Street East in Tallangatta.
The upgrades will include:
- Renewal of existing and installation of new kerb, footpath and stormwater
- Parking and provision for bike lanes
- Intersection upgrades at Baree Street and Akuna Avenue
- A footpath connection to the rail trail along Towong Street East
There will be minor delays at certain times during construction. Where there is direct impact to driveway access for residents and business owners along Towong Street East, Council will be in contact directly.
Towong Shire Council Mayor David Wortmann said the upgrades will provide a huge improvement to the Eastern entrance to the Tallangatta township.
“These improvements will bring the eastern entrance to Tallangatta into line with earlier upgrades to the CBD” he said.
