Round 4 of Council’s Community Recovery Grants Program has now closed
Towong Shire Council Mayor David Wortmann has thanked those that applied for the fourth and final round of the Council’s Community Recovery Grants Program.
“On behalf of my fellow councillors, I’d like to say thank you to everyone that took the time to apply for our Community Recovery Grants Program.”
“The community-led recovery initiatives we’ve seen come through the program so far have been really inspiring. We are really proud to be able to support our communities to bring their fantastic ideas to life,” he said.
The applications for the final round will be considered by the Council at the October Council Meeting, with the applicants being notified of the decision by 5pm Friday 12 November.
Council’s $750,000 Community Recovery Grants Program was established in July 2020 to support Towong Shire communities impacted by the bushfires, through locally led recovery initiatives.
The program was funded by a $500,000 grant from the Federal Government’s Bushfire Recovery Program and a $200,000 grant from the State Government’s Community Recovery and Resilience Grants Program.
