Bethanga Streetscape - Tree Planting and Landscaping

In September 2020, Council will be commencing tree planting and landscaping in Bethanga, with a focus on enhancing the streetscape and providing additional shade in the summer months, making Bethanga an even more attractive place to visit and to live.

Tree species have been selected that will have minimal impact on power lines, underground services, traffic conditions and future construction, while also being low-maintenance.

To accommodate the new trees, deteriorating Wattle and Prunus trees in Beardmore, Hollow and Martin Streets will need to be removed.

The planting plan can be viewed here. Please note, tree positions are a guide only.

The proposed plantings are in line with the Council’s Tree Replacement Strategy and Tree Management Plan, which can also be found here.

Council is keen to hear feedback on the draft plans for the above works in Bethanga. If you have any feedback or queries, please contact Andrew O’Connell, Technical Officer by either:

  • Phone: 02 6071 5100

  • Email:

  • Post: PO Box 55, Tallangatta VIC 3700

All feedback must be received by 11 September 2020.
