Hardwaste and Greenwaste Collections
At Council's periodic hardwaste and greenwaste collections residents in outlying areas can dispose of bulky waste such as couches, stoves and old fencing wire as well as non-commercial quantities of greenwaste.
You will need to call Council on 02 6071 5100 to make a booking; this helps us to keep the site safe and manage traffic effectively.
2020 Collection
Towong Shire will again run a hard and green waste collection service at the following locations and times, on the dates shown below.
Council accepts standard trailer or Ute loads of non commercial hard waste (couches, stoves, old fencing wire, timber, steel, glass, paper, plastic, non-decomposable, non-hazardous solid wastes) as well as non-commercial green waste (lawn clippings, branches up to 25 cm or 10 inch diameter).
Don’t forget to tell Customer Service about your waste voucher, issued with rates notices. This will ensure we can register your voucher so you can dispose of waste free of charge.
Council does not accept mattresses, bed bases, batteries, tyres, LPG cylinders chemicals, oils or hazardous waste during these collections (non-commercial quantities of these items can be dropped off at the Corryong Resource Recovery Centre or the Tallangatta or Wodonga Transfer Stations). E-waste, fridges and air conditioners need to be kept separate from hardwaste materials.
Residents are also reminded that they can use their Waste Vouchers at the Corryong Resource Recovery Centre or the Tallangatta or Wodonga Transfer Stations. The service will run strictly on a pre-booked basis.
Residents must ring Council to book an appointment on 02 6071 5100.
The booking system is COMPULSORY and you will be issued with a booking number and appointment time. Please remember without a booking, Council cannot fulfill the service.
