The Narrows Project Feasibility Assessment

The Narrows Project Feasibility Assessment

Towong Shire Council is undertaking a comprehensive "once-and-for-all" Feasibility Assessment of The Narrows Project with input from leading experts in dam engineering, economic analysis and other disciplines.

Towong Shire Council is seeking feedback about the Feasibility Assessment work completed to date.

Work completed to date includes:

- Technical Feasibility Study (undertaken by specialist Dam Engineering firm SMEC)

- Cost Benefit Analysis (undertaken by specialist Economists GHD)

Copies of this work is available for download below. A project Fact Sheet has also been prepared, with key details of both studies, also available for download below.

During March 2017 Council undertook a range of activities to seek community feedback about the Narrows Feasibility Assessment.

A report is being prepared on information and opinions which were put forward during interviews, through surveys and at the four community sessions which were conducted to provide information and seek feedback.

Community feedback will be considered by the Project Steering Group in preparing advice to the Victorian Government. The Steering Group has membership from all relevant government agencies. The Victorian Government will then decide whether additional studies are required.
